Wooden Sitting Elephant Ornament

A truly beautiful item this sitting wooden elephant has been carved from Suar wood and because it's totally handmade no two are ever identical. They feature all of the natural elements of the wood which gives them a huge amount of character. Suar wood, (also locally known as "Rain Tree"), is a fast-growing durable hardwood. It is traditionally carved into decorative shapes; particularly animal figures. Suar can be easily polished to a high sheen but takes great skill to carve, due to its very hard interlocking grain.
