A charming family group, comprising three painted wooden zebras in graduating heights. Our zebra family have elegant long legs and necks and friendly, inquisitive faces. Their brush manes are made from natural grasses. Each zebra stands on its own black wooden plinth. Handmade in Bali from albesia wood. Fairly traded by Present Company from a small family business in Bali. Ornamental use only – not a toy. Further information: Albesia is a fast-growing tropical softwood. It is one of the fastest growing trees on the planet – a seedling may exceed 50ft in 10 years. Because of this, albesia is sometimes referred to as a ‘weed tree’, as its rapid growth can shade out other plants. However, when carefully managed, albesia is extremely useful.
